Fractional Strategic Advisor

Part-time senior leadership — working alongside your team as programs run.

As a fractional advisor I work alongside your team on an ongoing basis — connecting strategy to execution, defining what success looks like, and making sure data informs decisions and gets used. This role sits between strategy, operations, and evaluation. I bring the oversight and accountability infrastructure that typically lives inside large institutions.

Current work includes partnering with a 60+ branch national membership organization to establish measurable outcomes across seven program areas and connect branch-level data to national priorities for the first time.

WHAT THIS TYPICALLY INCLUDES

  • Monthly strategy sessions with leadership

  • Oversight of data, reporting, and performance tracking systems

  • Staff guidance on using evidence effectively for decisions and communications

  • Quarterly learning brief summarizing progress, patterns, and recommendations

  • Stakeholder and funder reporting support as needed

Program Evaluation & Learning

Find out what’s working.

Engagements are rigorous but practical, tailored to your goals and your team's capacity. The result is honest, evidence-based insight you can act on — informing decisions, strengthening programs, and communicating results to funders and stakeholders.

Work has included designing and leading evaluation systems across a multi-partner federal health workforce portfolio, coordinating data collection across institutional partners and maintaining survey response rates above 80 percent.

WHAT THIS TYPICALLY INCLUDES

  • Review of current strategy, goals, and existing performance measures

  • Evaluation design and data collection — surveys, interviews, focus groups, document review

  • Analysis and synthesis of findings

  • Final report with clear, actionable recommendations

  • Ongoing monitoring and learning systems to track progress and support improvement over time

Grant Strategy & Program Design

Winning grants starts before the writing begins.

A strong proposal is built on a well-designed program — clear goals, a credible outcomes framework, and a narrative that speaks directly to what a funder cares about. Itera Partners works with organizations at both ends of that process: helping shape the program itself, then articulating it compellingly in the proposal. This includes review of funder priorities, stakeholder and needs assessment where relevant, and post-award support to ensure tracking and reporting systems are in place before the work begins.

Recent work includes supporting a New York cultural organization in securing its first NYC Department of Cultural Affairs grant through program design and outcomes framework development.

WHAT THIS TYPICALLY INCLUDES

  • Review of funder priorities and alignment with your programs

  • Program design support — clarifying goals, activities, and outcomes framework

  • Needs assessment where it strengthens the proposal

  • Proposal writing and editing, including narrative and evaluation sections

  • Post-award support: tracking systems and reporting frameworks

Whether you have a specific project in mind or are just exploring, let's talk.
